Production Blog: Preparation Before Filming - Commercial
Hello again, before filming, I must coordinate with my group on our filming. I already had agreed and so did my group that I will be going to Holiday Park with my group to start our filming process. My location for the commercial was now set stone. However now I needed a date and time range that both me and my group can work with. So, I proposed we could meet on Saturday, and my group agreed. I then coordinated again with my group to see what time they were available, and we decided at 12:30 P.M. I now needed to acquire my props for the commercial. So, on Saturday, before I went to the park to film, I stopped by a nearby grocery store. I needed to buy the most important part of the project, which was the product, Más+. I also needed a soccer ball, however I already had one at home, so I used the one from my home at the park. One of the most important parts of preparing for a commercial is the actual filming and the camera. So, at first, I had the idea that my partner was going to use their phone to film the commercial. This is because I was told they were getting the new iPhone 15, which has better camera quality than my phone. However, due to some issues, the phone did not arrive on time. So, in the end, we decided that the day of filming, we were going to use my iPhone 13 to film. An issue that we had before filming is I had coordinated with my group to meet at 12:30 P.M., however due to a delay regarding timing on when I would be available while having my swim practice the morning of as a factor, I couldn’t meet up to film until 1 P.M. I quickly texted my group around 11:30 A.M. if they could rather coordinate at 1 P.M. instead and luckily, they could. Lastly, before I left to film at around 12:30 P.M., I had to figure out what exactly I was going to wear. So since beforehand we had decided that I was the goalkeeper and my partner was the soccer player in the film, I had to somewhat look like a goalkeeper. Since there isn’t really designated clothing for a goalkeeper, I put on running shoes, and gym shorts with a dark green shirt that would most importantly, fit the look of an athlete who happens to also be a goalkeeper. However, something I did notice that all goalkeepers have is gloves for when they catch the ball. Since I don’t actually play soccer myself as a sport, I didn’t have gloves that professional goalkeepers would use. Therefore, I resorted to using black gloves that I had in my room for when it is really cold outside, or when I travel to somewhere cold which worked well as a replacement in the film. These are some of the plans and processes that I had to do for preparation before filming my commercial.
