Production Blog: Overcoming Obstacles Before Filming - Music Video

Hello everyone again, I am excited to tell you how I have advanced in my music video process. So, I am going to be discussing issues that I had to overcome with my group before we were allowed to start filming. Due to a plethora of inconveniences that occurred, this led to obstacles that I had to overcome. Last weekend I met up with my group to start filming again. However, beforehand we had a long complication of when we could all meet up. My group preferred to meet up on Saturday since it worked better for everyone. However, due to a family event I had, I couldn’t meet up with my group until Sunday which caused a bit of complications for my group. My group in the end was able to thankfully meet up the day that I was available as well. Last minute I was notified that I could meet up on Saturday to film, however it was too late to let me friends know, so we ended up agreeing on Sunday. One key factor that was an awaiting problem I had to face was the time. I had agreed with my friends to meet up at my friend's house at four in the afternoon. This was a problematic factor in our scheduling since we needed to film in the daytime. Also, due to daylight savings, this wasn’t in our favor. Therefore, we only had around ninety minutes to two hours before sunset occurred. When the day came, I met up with my group at around four in the afternoon. I was talking at first with my group members about what we planned to film first. We planned on doing the scenes that needed sunlight first. We had thoroughly coordinated the scenes that were going to be taken first and last. However, my group didn’t all arrive at my friend’s house until around four-thirty in the afternoon. This led to a delay in our timeline for what I had planned on filming first. The sunlight was a crucial factor we needed to consider since it was very dependent on how my scenes would appear. These were some of the many obstacles that I had to face with my group before the main filming of my music video.
