Production Blog: Editing Time! - Final Task
Hello everyone once again, it's time to edit. This is personally my favorite part in the process of finalizing a film. This is because I get to put together all the tiny clips that don’t really have much meaning into one big creation that has a impactful meaning to the audience. So, me and Salome needed to find time to edit this film. Me and her came up with the idea that me and her should meet up during study hall. This allows us to interact face-to-face without any communication restrictions. Also, if I meet up with Salome in person, she and I both get to interact with the editing software in real-time. This allows the editing process to be enhanced since creative input from both me and Salome can easily be expressed. So, we met up in the study hall, and I was wondering what editing software she and I were going to use. In the past, I have used CapCut for my last two filming projects. However, recently there was a national ban in the United States banning applications such as CapCut. So, I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to use this application again. I really wanted to use this editing software again because I already know the basis and controls of how to navigate this software with using it in previous film projects. Luckily, the application CapCut was back up and running for users in the United States, therefore allowing me to use this for my final task. First, me and Salome selected all the videos that we liked from the multiple videos I filmed of the same scene. Next, I put them together and with Salome's help, adjusted them to fit the time frame required. I then input the titles, adjusted the lighting in some videos, and added some music audio that I picked with Salome. This music audio that me and Salome selected fits the environment and situation the “innocent girl” is in, creating a suspense to the audience. After watching the film multiple of times, me and Salome finally finished with editing the final task. The editing process for me honestly was the most enjoyable part so far in the progression of my final task. I am really looking forward to officially finalizing all the details and final touches for our final task.
