Production Blog: Film Review - Final Task

Hello everyone, I am very close to finishing the production of my final task. Once I had finished editing it, I rewatched it over and over again. This was to make sure that in my perspective, the film is as effective in displaying its message as possible. I wanted to create this effect in the audience while adding a sense of fluency with our camera angles, editing techniques, and more that enhances the message and intention of the film. However, after rewatching many times, I realized that I may be biased to the way I see my own film. So, I asked my brother for him to review my film. This was in order to get another opinion on how I may be able to enhance my film. Not only is he another individual with a different perspective on how he may see my final task, but he also has already taken AICE Media AS Level. This shows that he already has a level of expertise that can assist me in getting feedback for my film. So, after school I asked my brother if he could watch the film that me and Salome have created so far. I made my brother watch the film twice. The first time was to get the basis of the film and story plot. The second time was to really look at the small details of the film that may enhance the way the story is conveyed and displayed to the audience. So, after he reviewed the film, he was able to give me some feedback. He had first said that he really liked how the story plot turned out. He told me that he, as the audience, was able to stay really engaged with the story. Something that made me feel that I did a good job in creating this final task was that he said he was able to feel suspense within the film with the wide variety of camera shots and angles, along with the contribution of the story plot. Overall, he said that the film was really good and that he couldn’t find much stuff to fix in the film. However, one thing that he did note was that in one of the scenes it was too dim. So, he suggested increasing the brightness and adjusting the coloring for this scene, in which I did. With that, I am officially done with my final task. I am very happy with the film that I have created with my group partner Salome, of an opening sequence of an original film. I am very excited to share with you guys my final task and show you all the hard work and dedication I’ve put into this film.
