Production Blog: Editing Time! - Commercial

Image
Hello, so we finally came to the part where we put everything together. Since my group ended up filming on my phone, I had all the video scenes and clips that were filmed. At the end of filming our commercial, there were 90 videos! Now obviously I won’t be able to fit all 90 videos. As well, a lot of these videos are repeats of the same scene trying to be perfected. So, the application that I used with my group to edit the video was CapCut. This is an application that can be downloaded simply on your phone that allows you to edit videos and clips. I found it really useful since it was very accessible and quite easy to learn and maneuver. As well, this application had no costs and was free to an extent that provided me all the materials I needed for my editing process for the commercial. The first step I took was input the first scene that I wanted with my group, which was the establishing shot. From there I just kept adding on the scenes that would match up chronically after that. Production Blog: It's Time to Film! - Commercial

Image
Hello, so the day to film for my commercial finally arrived. On a Saturday me and my group went to Holiday Park to start our filming process. We already had a vision of what we wanted for our comme rcial since we created a storyboard beforehand. I met with my group at around one in the afternoon and started filming. My brother also came along throughout the filming production since we needed another person to hold the camera at times since my group was only two members and the film at times had two characters (me and my group member ) .   Our first scene was an establishing shot which  only took a couple minutes to film . Next, w e filmed other scenes with just the soccer player which included them  running across the field with a soccer ball and as well we had a focusing shot of the soccer player about to kick the soccer ball to the goal net . The next scene that we did took at least fifteen minutes since we kept taking re takes after retakes . The scene was t...

Hello again, before filming, I must coordinate with my group on our filming . I already had agreed and so did my group that I will be going to Holiday Park with my gro up to start our filming process . My location for the commercial was now set stone . However now I needed a date and time range that both me and my group can work with . So, I proposed we could meet on Saturday , a nd my group agreed . I then coordinated again with my group to see what time they were available, and we decided at 12:30 P . M .   I now needed to acquire my props for the commercial . So, on Saturday , before I went to the park to film, I stopped by a nearby grocery store . I needed to buy the most important part of the project, which was the product, M ás+ . I also needed a soccer ball, however I already had one at home, so I used the one from my home a t t he park . One of the most impo rtant parts of preparing for a commercial is the actual filming and the camera . So, at first, I had t...

Storyboard - Commercial

Scene 1: The opening scene will be an establishing shot showing the soccer field, which is the main location where the production will be filmed.  Scene 2: The soccer player starts running over towards the goal net but is far away, so they need to run for quite a bit.  Scene 3: The soccer player is still running over to the goal net, still across the field (with a panning camera movement focusing on the camera running).  Scene 4: The soccer player is about to shoot their shot at the goal net (over the shoulder shot).  Scene 5: The soccer player shoots their shot at the goal net but is then deflected by the goalie.  Scene 6: The soccer player gets upset and walks away to the bench to take a break and hydrate themself after being flushed from playing on the field.  Scene 7: The soccer player sits down and picks up one of the Más+ hydration drinks to refresh themself.  Scene 8: A close-up shot is taken focusing on the player consuming the sports dr...
